About Me

My story

Hi, I’m James. My life began here at the Mater Hospital on the 25th December 1995. I have lived in Waverton, Kirribilli and North Sydney as well as neighbouring Greenwich and Chatswood. At an early age, I started school in Milsons Point at St Aloysius College. I've worked at Luna Park and ANZAC Park Public School. Currently, I work for Norths Basketball in Crows Nest. I know this place very well and love it.

I have worked across many sectors; retail, hospitality, logistics, events, the NGO sector, marketing, media, sports and education. These jobs have given me a vast range of skills, but more importantly a better understanding of life from many perspectives. This experience is very valuable for me.

In 2019, I worked for Trent Zimmerman MP (Liberal) the Federal Member for North Sydney. During my time working for Trent I gained a deeper understanding of the area. I applied for that position with the intention to serve this community. It was a privilege to do this in my role with Mr. Zimmerman.

Also, I did work for Cate Faehrmann MLC (Greens) in the NSW Upper House. This was a valuable experience in understanding how government works on a local and state level. Cate is a no nonsense, passionate and values driven representative, characteristics that have inspired me.

While living in Melbourne I also worked for John Kennedy MP (Labor) , representative for Hawthorn in the Victorian Parliament. During the thick of the COVID-19 lockdowns, we worked to provide crucial support for the community. I was proud to serve this community to the best of my ability during a crisis.

It may seem strange that I have worked for three different parties. I believe strongly in putting community service above politics. It was more important that I worked for politicians I respected and whose causes I believed in. Working across the political spectrum is crucial for progress. We can find common ground, we need to see issues from many perspectives, we must look for the best in others.
